The Pegasus Foundation's Programs Will Help Your Aerophobia

It appears from the glowing testimonials found in the archived pages of the Pegasus Foundation's website, there are many thankful people who are now able to board a commercial airline and fly from point A to point B.

When pegasus-fear-fly.com's domainregistration expired, this wonderful site was delegated in the basement of expired domains. I was delighted when I recently discovered that the domain was available. I bought it with the goal of recreating as much of the Pegasus Foundation's original content as possible from archived pages. I did not want someone else to purchase the domain and re-purpose the site for something that had nothing in common with the original website. The phobia of flying is a crippling disorder. I had a fear of flying which really impacted my work as a software developer. If the team I worked with had to travel by plane to see a client I was always finding excuses why I couldn't go.Finally I admitted to my boss, my phobia of flying and he suggested the Pegasus Foundation. Amazing results for me. I am still working at the same progressive software development company. Just recently I flew out to California for a consult with a new client. We were helping them customize their big data foray by adding a well trained data science developers team so there would be faster lines of communication between the physicians, their staff, patients, and third-party specialists, pharmacies, and labs. Beyond customizing the programs they already are using, we use the same technology and best practices that data analysts and business intelligence pros use to create a dashboard that brings all their current programs together in one accessible place. After all, patients have high expectations of the customer service they’ll receive at a concierge medical practice and we were there to help them. I love the work I do and am so grateful flying no longer poises an obstacle to me.

I am sad that the Pegasus Foundation is no more and want to thank David Linsley and his Pegasus Foundation for helping so many people.

PEGASUS TESTIMONIALS

I returned last week from my first airline flights in 20 years! They were marvelous. This is actually a double celebration. The first is for my being able to fly again without paralyzing fear and the second is for surviving a malfunction of the IVC filter I had implanted to prevent blood clots from reaching my lungs. With the help of my IVC lawyer I have also been able to claim some recompense for my unnecessary pain and suffering that occurred when pieces from the filter broke off and lodged in my lung. I nearly died from the medical device that was suppose to help me! I just want other people to know about the IVC filter. The FDA updated their safety communication in 2014, stating most IVC filter devices should be removed between the 29th and 54th day after implantation. Well, that warning came too late for me. I guess I was lucky in the sense that I didn't die from either blood clots or the medical device. I am ok now as is evidence from my recent flight. Now for the back story for my second celebration: flying again.

After a particularly turbulent series of flights in the 1970's, I slowly developed a generalized phobia about flying. This grew to the point where I could not even tolerate the thought of entering an airplane for flight. It goes without saying that this phobia very seriously hindered both my career and my social life. As soon as an employer began speaking about my next assignment which would involve travel, I had to come up with excuses about how that assignment "just wasn't right for me" or begin describing how "I just love to drive".
Well, I got a request for a job interview in Los Angeles several weeks ago which had the potential for changing my lifestyle dramatically for the better -- a job which I've been dreaming of for years. But the thought of flying to the interview just made me cringe. It was at that time that I made up my mind that I would have to get over this fear of flying.
As you know, I then ordered a copy of your Tri-Media program.

It worked marvelously. By the time I was waiting in the boarding area for the outbound flight, I literally couldn't wait to get on the plane. The old joy that I used to feel when flying returned with a gusto. Needless to say, the outbound and inbound flights were both a joy rather than a fear inspiring experience.
In preparation for the outbound flight, I watched the video tape three times, read the manual and listened to the audio tape at least 7 or 8 times. What I found most helpful was the side of the audio tape entitled "The Flight". It literally provided a walk-though of what to expect while on the plane. As the tape says, all of those mysterious hydraulic whirrings, bumps, thrums, etc. that you hear while flying lost their mysteriousness and actually became fun, as I clicked off in my mind what the pilot was doing. When the hydraulic noises started, sure enough, the leading edge of the wing was being lowered and/or the spoilers were being raised. ( I had reserved a wing/window seat) After the lights flickered, the air-conditioning did come on.
The Pegasus program has literally changed my life. I feel so much better about myself now that I've mastered the fear of flying phobia and in fact I've already booked a second round-trip to the same destination. And guess what. I've joined 2 frequent flier clubs!!
Thanks again for your remarkable program. I hope that it will be of as much benefit to others as it has been for me.
Sincerely,
A.W. – Michigan

Thank you again for speaking with me this morning, Captain Linsley. I forgot to say the most important thing I had on my mind because I'm very cognizant of taking up too much of your time.

What I wanted to say is that I'm amazed that someone who loves to fly can have any empathy for those who fear flying (much less dedicate themselves to helping them so generously and selflessly!). You're truly a blessing and your Pegasus Program is an invaluable help. I've been growing in fear of each flight for the past 10 years or so and this is the first trip in all that time, that my visit home to family hasn't been clouded over with worry and fear!

I'll call you after the round-trip has been completed to report in with how I did. Sometime you'll have to let me know how you got involved with helping fearful flyers -- right now, I'm just glad you did!!

Dear Captain Linsley,

I wanted to give you a big "THANKS" - for giving me the tools to help get my freedom back!

I was determined to get over my fear of flying. I even booked a flight to Reno, NV from the Oak-land Int'l Airport (45 minute flight) to face my fears. Then I found the Pegasus Foundation on the web. We spoke briefly the night of April 30th and I ordered the Tri-Media Kit. I have to admit, I was skeptical at the time.

I received the kit a few days later and watched the video, read the text and listened to the audio tape. I must have combed through Chapter 10 a dozen times, each time wondering if I had done the right thing.

On May 15th, the night before my trip, I was unable to watch the video like I planned due to a small emergency at home. I didn't get to bed until late and the next day I woke up a little later than I wanted to so I didn't watch the video that morning, either. Instead, I took the text, a business card with FACE, PLACE etc. written on it and a picture of my daughter taken at Disneyland in a silly hat to help me concentrate. We got to the terminal 1· hours early, had a light breakfast, and relaxed in the terminal. I practiced breathing, isometrics, concentration etc. while in the terminal. When we boarded, I continued with the breathing and read Chapter 10 to determine what phase our flight was in and assure myself everything was NORMAL, SAFE, and PREPARED FOR. When we began take-off, I closed my eyes and did the breathing exercises as well as FACE, PLACE etc. After a few moments I opened my eyes and we were up in the air and turning away from the airport without my knowing! During the flight, I concentrated on my daughter's picture and continued to read Chapter 10 for assurance and didn't get antsy when I heard the wing flaps move or the wings dip in a turn, something that I would have been petrified at before! Even when we hit turbulence over the Sierra Mountains it didn't bother me; I kept telling myself the pilots are trained and prepared for this. It was such an enjoyable flight, I swear I will never drive (which normally takes 4 hours) to Reno again! And, I got to get a bird's eye view of the Sierras with fresh snow on top of them - it was gorgeous!

Thank you so much! I have a business trip to Phoenix, AZ in two weeks and going back to Reno next month! After that, who knows? All I know is now I have the confidence and the tools to get there, and I wanted to show you my gratitude. I will recommend your program to any one I ever meet that is afraid to fly!!! It is the most reasonably priced in comparison to other alternatives and the results are well worth it!

Thank you again!!! And, please feel free to use anything in this letter as a testimonial!

Dear Capt. Dave:

Ordering the Tri-Media Kit from you was one of the best and most important steps I've taken in a long time. Although I was definitely at a point of willingness to face this fear, I don't think I could have done it without the help I specifically received from the video, book and tape. For me the entire program worked together perfectly, but I believe the most beneficial part was the explanation of how flight occurs.

After I received the kit I decided to attempt flying again. Waiting for the first plane was difficult, but I used what I had been taught and it worked. After the first takeoff I really had hopes for myself, and during the return flight home I was honestly like a different person. I actually enjoyed it. You have no idea what a change that is. Thank you.

Dear Capt.:

I just returned from a short one week vacation with my two children to Northern California. We all flew from Ontario, CA to Reno, NV stopping in San Jose. It was my first flight since purchasing the program a couple of months ago, and my first flight in over six years. The flight and subsequent vacation were great. My fear was dramatically reduced after following the steps outlined in your program. The common sense information, self-help suggestions, and relaxation techniques all helped me control my reactions to the airline environment.

Thank you for putting together such a wonderful program and continued success in the future! You are all to be congratulated! (Me too, by the way!) I consider this one of the most challenging situations I have ever faced, and without your help, I'm not sure I would have ever faced my fear. You're right: "Knowledge is confidence..."

FAQ

Q. I don't know where to start. How do I begin?

A. You've already begun, by seeking this information. Give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. It's a first step, and an important one.
Now, look at the options provided under the Programs heading. There are V.I.P. & One-on-One seminars, Corporate seminars, and individual or supervised use of the innovative new Tri-Media Kit. Since all programs include the kit, the cost of that item ($69.95) will be reduced from the cost of the other programs you might choose to enroll in at a later date.
For reasons of cost and urgency, we recommend starting with the Tri-Media Kit, as it has all of the essential information you need regarding both the commercial airline environment which triggers your fear, and the internal psychological environment, where the fear takes place. The Tri-Media Kit is designed to get you going, NOW! You can order it on the web at www.pegasus-fear-fly.com or by phone at 1-800-FEAR NOT (332-7668), or by mail (see the order form in the Programs section.) The website credit card information is encrypted against misuse by unauthorized persons, and is probably the most secure means of all to order. But, by all means, get started now! You're on the right track. Fear is ignorance. Knowledge is confidence.

Q. What qualifications do the Pegasus staffmembers bring to the task of helping fearful flyers?

A. The President of the non-profit Pegasus Foundation is Captain Dave Linsley, a retired United Airlines and Air Gabon (Africa) jetliner captain with over 20,000 pilot hours flying in North & South America, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe and Africa. He is also a nationally recognized motivational speaker, having appeared on the NBC TODAY SHOW with Jane Pauley, CNN, CNBC and ABC-TV with Dick Cavett, The Joe Franklin Show on WOR-TV, the Michael Jackson ABC Radio Show in Los Angeles with both Michael Jackson and Tom Snyder, and a host of other national, regional and local Radio and TV Shows, as well as being interviewed in The N.Y. TIMES, The N.Y. DAILY NEWS, The CHICAGO TRIBUNE, The CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, The SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE, The LOS ANGELES TIMES, The NEWARK STAR LEDGER, The PALM BEACH POST, and numerous other national, regional and local print media. Captain Linsley began flying as a Cadet in Pensacola in 1958. He has been helping fearful flyers since 1969.
Juanita P. Lovett, Ph. D., registered clinical psychologist, who co-founded with Capt. Linsley the remarkably successful Pegasus One-Day Total-Immersion style seminars for highly- motivated fearful flyers, participated in psychological services at Bell Labs.

Q. What is a Pegasus one-day, total-immersion training staff seminar like?

A. Captain Linsley meets with an individual fearful flyer, therapist, EAP represen-tative or corporate training dept. operatives all day, 9 to 5, in the conference room of a major jetport area hotel or client company facilities for lectures, training, videotaped airport and aircraft and systems tours, exercises and a working continental breakfast, deli-buffet lunch. It's an exhausting day for everyone, but highly-rewarding. Intense, confrontive, informative, revealing, and effective, the one-day introductory training seminar is designed especially for the type of highly-motivated fearful flyer counselor who is determined to help fearfil flyers get over this malady as quickly as possible. Pegasus clients have worked past the point of questioning, and are now ready to get to work learning, confronting, practising and changing! Admittedly not for everyone, fully 75% of fearful flyer clients who apply for this exciting and clinically-proven-effective Tri-Media Kit program are advised to wait until they are better prepared, more-motivated, less-hesitant about accepting change into their lives. On the other hand, those who are invited to participate fare very well indeed, as 100% of over one-thousand graduates in fourteen countries can attest, flying once again without fear. The Tri-Media Kit is highly-effective for the right people, at the right time in their lives. Of course, there are also one-on-one or V.I.P. consultations. Considering the timing and the cost, the Tri-Media Kit is a real bargain, especially since it can be in a client's hands, First Class Priority Mail, in about three or four days anywhere in the USA. And Fast Priority package delivery is also available on request worldwide.

Q. I've been afraid for years. How can I "recover" in just days, or weeks?

A. By learning! The old adage that "what you don't know won't hurt you." is tragically false. Perhaps the root of the problem lies in not understanding what phobic fear is. By definition, an illogical, inexplicable fear. You don't have to do anything to get it, but you must do something to get rid of it. It doesn't just go away, and left to fester, it begins to affect other areas of one's life, as it saps the self-esteem and renders one a quivering mass of self-doubt and indecision. One must learn, instead, the simple but clinically-proven-effective techniques provided for taking ownership of one's fear, confronting it, practising the basic drills we teach, and accepting responsibility to use these techniques to improve the quality of one's life while increasing one's self-esteem.

Q. What about therapy?

A. Use it if you need it. A good therapist is a skilled and impartial guide who shows you how to negotiate the path through your self-doubts. We encourage the use of a therapist. Many therapists are joining the Foundation as Associates, using the Tri-Media-Kit as an integral part of their practice. Few therapists are aviators, and few aviators are therapists. But combining the talents of both disciplines has proven most effective. Any reputable program of aerophobia recovery will necessarily include the talents of both aviation and counseling professionals. If your therapist is unaware of the Pegasus Program, invite him or her to contact us for details at 1-800-FEAR NOT (332-7668) or www.pegasus-fear-fly.com and we will introduce them to the Associates Program.

Q. What can the Tri-Media Kit alone do for me?

A. It provides you with all the technical information in both the commercial airline environment and the internal environment of the mind necessary to start confronting your fear, and equips you with the tools which will enable you to strengthen your self-esteem to the point where you can once again take control of your life. Not as effective, nor as expensive, as a seminar or therapy, but a good start.

Q. What do I need with a therapist or counselor if I have the Tri-Media Kit?

A. The Tri-Media Kit alone is effective for some people who are suffering milder forms of phobic fear, or who are very highly-motivated because of positive circumstances in their individual lives or personal makeup. Others, however, bring a lot of baggage to the recovery forum. Since phobic fear is a matter of control and self-esteem, it can be tied up with many other concerns of an individual. The services of a skilled therapist are often required to sort through the maze of feelings. Seeking the help of a therapist, contrary to popular opinion, is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of inner-revelation and acceptance, very healthy attitudes.

Q. How do I qualify for a V.I.P. or One-on-One seminar?

A These are reserved for corporate and government leaders, sports and entertainment figures, and special referrals from other sources. Captain Linsley has worked with individuals from the music, movie and theatre industries, and the U.S. Congress, as well as sports figures of the NBA, NHL, NFL ATP and MLB. Corporate services have been provided to personnel of Ford, Chrysler, General Motors, United Airlines, Continental Airlines, Ceiba-Geigy, Dow, Kodak, Pepsi-Cola, McDonalds, The U.S. State Dept., Dept.of Defense, and a host of other companies and government entities. The vast majority of fearful flyers seem to fare best by previewing the Tri-Media-Kit, and perhaps attending therapy afterwards. In addition, as each metropolitan area hosts a significant number of Tri-Media-Kit users we will conduct a half-day mini-seminar in that area at no additional cost, to provide a forum for person-to-person sharing. And the 800 # is always available to clients and associates for feedback and consultation.

Q. Are there any guarantees that I'll be successful if I take on any of the Pegasus Programs?

A. If you follow the techniques we teach, and study the materials we provide, you simply cannot fail. It's completely up to you! That's why we recommend beginning with the affordably priced Tri-Media-Kit. This is an innovative new tool, seven years in preparation, three years in editing and production, designed to provide any fearful flyer anywhere with the basic information necessary to begin the road to recovery from phobic fear. Simply refer to the comments of those who have used the Kit, or attended Pegasus Seminars.

Q. What does PEG-a-sus mean?

A. PEG-a-sus is the name of the flying horse of Greek mythology responsible for bringing Zeus his lightning bolts. It is also the symbol for the spirit of freedom commonly associated with flight.
